Climate change makes weather patterns much harsher and affects all wildlife at a global scale, some more than others. Perhaps no other places are more at risk than the arctic and Antarctic regions and the species that live there. The most iconic and most threatened species is the polar bear. Polar bears who hunt seals “rely heavily on Arctic sea ice, which is rapidly disappearing due to global warming” (Effects on Wildlife and Habitat - National Wildlife Federation). Arctic animals are not the only animals affected by this climate change; migratory birds are changing behaviors and migration patterns and suffering the consequences of more extreme weather, including drought and floods. Fish that rely on cold water are also in danger of population decline. Wide spectrums of animals are affected by climate change, and we are risking their existence by not acting on it.
